Terms of Use
End User License Agreement (EULA) · Last updated: October 27, 2026
In short. We grant you a personal license to use toExpense on your Apple devices. After a free trial the app requires a yearly subscription, managed by Apple, that you can cancel at any time. Data read from receipts is an automatic suggestion: check it before you use it. toExpense does not replace your accountant.
1. Parties and acceptance
These terms govern your use of the toExpense app (the “App”) and form an agreement between you (the “User”) and:
Digital Booster srlVia Melzi d’Eril 3, 20154 Milan (MI), Italy
VAT and tax code 07932180966
Email: [email protected] · Phone: +39 02 871 96096
By downloading, installing or using the App you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the App. Data processing is described in the Privacy Policy.
2. Relationship with Apple
These terms are concluded between you and Digital Booster srl only, and not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). Digital Booster srl, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. Your use of the App is also subject to the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Where they conflict, Apple’s Usage Rules prevail.
3. License
Digital Booster srl grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any iPhone or iPad that you own or control, as permitted by Apple’s Usage Rules, including Family Sharing where enabled. The App is intended for users aged 14 and over; for users under 18, subscription purchases are handled through their Apple Account under Family Sharing settings.
Except as expressly permitted by law, you may not: copy, modify, decompile or disassemble the App; rent, resell or sublicense it; circumvent its technical measures, including those for the subscription; use it for unlawful purposes or to process third-party data in breach of applicable law.
You may use the App for both personal and professional or business expenses.
4. Free trial and subscription
You may use the App free of charge for a trial period. After that, continued use of all features requires an auto-renewable yearly subscription purchased through the App Store. Price, trial length and included features are shown in the App and on its App Store page before purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase or, if you started a free trial, when the trial ends.
- The subscription renews automatically for another year at the same price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- If the price changes, Apple will notify you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent before renewal.
Payments, refunds and any right of withdrawal are handled by Apple under its own terms. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Digital Booster srl has no access to your payment details and cannot issue refunds directly.
Without an active subscription, after the trial the data you have entered remains yours and can still be viewed or exported as described in the App.
5. How the service works
The App captures receipts, invoices, bills and other expense documents, extracts their data automatically on the device, suggests a category and lets you generate expense reports and export files (PDF, ZIP, CSV).
- Checking the data. Automatic extraction and the suggested category, including when the App uses artificial intelligence, may contain errors or omissions. You must check the data before saving, exporting or handing it to others.
- No advice. The App is an organizational tool. It does not provide tax, accounting or legal advice and does not guarantee that an expense is deductible, reimbursable or compliant with your company’s rules or with tax law.
- Document retention. The App is not a legally compliant digital archiving system. You remain responsible for keeping original documents for as long and in the manner required by law or by your employer.
- Requirements. Some features depend on the device model, the iOS or iPadOS version, the availability of Apple Intelligence and the available storage.
6. Data, iCloud and backups
The data you enter is yours and stays on your device and in your iCloud account. Sync depends on Apple’s iCloud service, your storage plan and your connection. Digital Booster srl has no access to your data and therefore cannot recover it if it is deleted, if you lose your device or if there are problems with your Apple account. Original receipts are saved in the “toEXPENSE” folder of your iCloud Drive: if you move, rename or delete them in the Files app or the Finder on your Mac, the App can no longer show them or include them in expense reports. We recommend exporting your expense reports regularly.
7. Third-party services and models
The App relies on third-party services whose use is subject to their own terms: Apple’s iCloud and Apple Intelligence; for optional AI models, the Hugging Face platform and each model’s license (for example Meta’s Llama 3.2 Community License and the Apache 2.0 license for Qwen 2.5). Model availability depends on the device and the country. By choosing one of these models you accept its terms of use. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the App.
8. Intellectual property
The App, the toExpense name, logo, graphics and software are owned by Digital Booster srl or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark laws. The license does not transfer any ownership to you.
If a third party claims that the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Digital Booster srl, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
9. Maintenance and support
Digital Booster srl is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the App, as specified in these terms and under applicable law. You can contact us at [email protected]. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services for the App.
10. Warranty
If you are a consumer, you are entitled to the statutory conformity guarantees for digital content and services under EU and Italian law (Legislative Decree 206/2005, Articles 135-octies et seq.), which these terms do not limit.
If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to a warranty are the sole responsibility of Digital Booster srl, within the limits of the law.
Subject to the above, the App is provided “as is”: we do not guarantee that it is error-free or that it will run without interruption on every device.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Digital Booster srl is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, missed reimbursements, penalties or additional taxes arising from unchecked data, from use of the App not in line with these terms or from failures of third-party services such as iCloud.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence, for personal injury or in other cases where the law does not allow exclusion or limitation, nor any mandatory rights granted to consumers.
12. Product claims
Digital Booster srl, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
13. Export compliance
You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government or European Union list of prohibited or restricted parties.
14. Term and termination
These terms remain in effect for as long as you use the App. You may end them at any time by uninstalling the App and cancelling any subscription. The license ends automatically if you materially breach these terms, and you must then stop using the App. Sections 8, 10, 11, 12 and 17 survive termination.
15. Apple as third-party beneficiary
Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Upon your acceptance of these terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
16. Changes
We may change these terms for legal or technical reasons or when we introduce new features. The updated version will be published on this page of the toExpense website (toexpense.app, toexpense.com, toexpense.ai) with its new date. We will give you reasonable notice of material changes, including through the App. Subscription price changes follow Apple’s rules described in section 4.
17. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, the mandatory rules of your country of habitual residence still apply, and any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts where you reside or are domiciled. In all other cases the courts of Milan, Italy, have exclusive jurisdiction.
If the Italian and English versions differ, the Italian version prevails.
